Lately, I have been diving deeply into who I am and what truly resonates with me. This journey of self-discovery has led me to make choices that reflect my true desires, regardless of external circumstances. I started to eat how I truly desired, despite my bank account balance, and dressed the way I wanted, ignoring societal expectations.
This shift brought an unexpected yet profound response from those around me. I felt a deep appreciation from people for being myself. When I spoke my truth, it felt like a divine arrangement, perfectly aligned with the moment. Today, I completed a dry fast on stage at an open mic night, drinking water for the first time in three days. The audience's reaction was overwhelming; it felt as though everyone was celebrating with me, becoming part of my story. This shared moment of vulnerability and truth felt like a collective experience, resonating deeply with everyone present.
This experience ties back to the concept of potential expression married with truth, always leading to the highest outcome. By living and eating authentically, I embarked on spiritual journeys of fasting and deep meditation, healing my inner child and embodying my true self more fully.
To create means to take something that does not exist within your experience and bring it forth into physicality. However, in a deeper sense, creation is already finished. All we are doing is moving with deep receptiveness to what already is, becoming aware of it, and bringing it into our physical experience. A creator is someone who performs this act of manifesting. Think about the world we live in, created by a higher power, bringing things that did not exist into an experiential reality. We, as conscious beings, share this ability to manifest as we please. Life itself becomes our playground, our canvas.
Creativity is the ability to take things that do not exist in our immediate reality and bring them into existence. It involves transforming potential into reality. I'm deeply convinced that creativity can only happen when potential is married with truth. When your manifestations align with your true self, they resonate at the highest level and bring forth the most powerful and meaningful outcomes.
Expression comes from the root "ex," meaning outward, and "press," meaning to push past. Thus, to express is to push outwards, to bring forth and communicate your inner experiences, thoughts, and emotions into the external world. It is an act of making the internal external, sharing your true self with the world.
Creative expression is more than just art or music; it is the act of living in the present moment and creating your reality from a place of authenticity. This means aligning your actions with your deepest truths and desires. When potential is married with truth, the outcomes are powerful and transformative, bringing forth your highest alignment.
Living in the present moment is the foundation of creative expression. It is the ultimate form of authenticity because it is the only time in which you can manifest a new reality. By being fully present, you engage with life directly and authentically, making conscious choices that shape your future.
To understand true creative expression, it's essential to recognize what it is not. Conformity, imitation, mindless routine, fear-based actions, and over-control stifle creativity. These behaviors prevent the free flow of ideas and suppress your unique potential.
Living for approval, suppressing emotions, denying true desires, wearing masks, and self-betrayal are signs of inauthenticity. These actions disconnect you from your true self and hinder your ability to live a fulfilling and genuine life.
Operating as your true self involves living in alignment with your core values and desires. It means making choices that resonate with your deepest truths and expressing your authentic nature without fear or pretense.
When you are your true self, you:
Wondering Exercise:
Spend a few minutes each day simply wondering about different things. Start with the phrase, "I wonder..." and let your mind explore various topics. This practice helps you connect with your innate curiosity and opens up new avenues for creative thought.
Curiosity Journal:
Write down what you are specifically curious about. Ask yourself questions like, "What am I curious about?" and "What topics ignite my interest?" Document these curiosities and explore them further.
Passion Exploration:
Reflect on what you are passionate about. Make a list of activities, subjects, or causes that excite you. Consider how you can incorporate these passions into your daily life.
Desired Experiences:
Identify the experiences you wish to have. Write down the kind of adventures, learning opportunities, and personal milestones you want to achieve. This helps clarify your goals and align your actions with your desires.
Growth Vision:
Envision the ways you see yourself growing. Reflect on your personal development, skills you want to acquire, and the person you aspire to become. Set intentions to support this growth.
World Contribution:
Consider the contribution you want to make to the world. Reflect on how you can use your unique talents and passions to impact others positively. Write down your thoughts and brainstorm ways to take action.
Lost
by David Wagoner
Stand still. The trees ahead and bushes beside you
Are not lost. Wherever you are is called Here,
And you must treat it as a powerful stranger,
Must ask permission to know it and be known.
The forest breathes. Listen. It answers,
I have made this place around you.
If you leave it, you may come back again, saying Here.
No two trees are the same to Raven.
No two branches are the same to Wren.
If what a tree or a bush does is lost on you,
You are surely lost. Stand still. The forest knows
Where you are. You must let it find you.
This journey has taught me that when you move from your truth in the present moment, it creates a divine arrangement. Authenticity and creative expression are intertwined, leading to profound personal growth and connection with others. Embracing your true self and living authentically allows you to tap into your potential, creating a life of meaning and fulfillment.
By recognizing what is not authentic or creative, you can focus on what truly matters: living in the present, aligning with your truth, and expressing your unique potential. This path leads to the highest alignment, bringing forth powerful and transformative outcomes that resonate deeply with yourself and those around you.
Living authentically and embracing creative expression not only enhances your own life but also touches the lives of others, creating a ripple effect of positive change. Through this continuous act of creation, grounded in truth, we can all contribute to a more vibrant, genuine, and harmonious world.
